At the heart of this museum are genuine oral histories and a wealth
of donated memorabilia from the diverse communities of the London Borough
of Redbridge.
To ensure that the whole community benefits, the musuem has a braille-enhanced
‘trail’ of tactile objects and a children’s trail
that links brass-rubbing markers on key displays to a quiz sheet.
Complementing these with low and hi-tech interactives, evocative smells
and reconstructions, the curators and designers have created a real
focus for local pride.
